How to Dock a Boat

Docking Your Boat: Step-by-Step

Advantage: Make docking that much easier with our Dynamic Power Steering. While other outboard engines make you purchase DPS, with the E-TEC G2, it comes standard. Just another way we make boating easy.

Benefit: Our Dynamic Power Steering makes your boat fun to drive! No more fighting the wheel. Enjoy fingertip control at all speeds making your boating experience effortless.

How To: Step by Step

Wind Is Blowing Towards The Dock

  1. Approach the dock with some space so the dock is not going to be close to the boat

  2. Approach the dock at slow speeds

  3. Once you get close to the dock, apply some reversing power to stop the boat

  4. Allow the wind and/or current to slowly drift you into your parking spot

  5. Wrap your line around the dock cleat to secure your boat

Wind Is Blowing Away From The Dock

  1. Approach the dock with your bow at an angle

  2. Approach the dock at slow speeds
