BRP US Inc. and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall on some Evinrude E-TEC 200 - 300 HP outboard models in the United States and Canada.

2010 and 2011 Evinrude ® E-TEC ® 40 - 90 HP outboard models

BRP US Inc. and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall on some Evinrude E-TEC 40 - 90 HP outboard models.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively "BRP") are conducting a voluntary EPA recall on certain Evinrude E-TEC 15–65 HP outboard.

As defined in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, as a manufacturer, BRP is required to correct engines that may be emitting pollutants in excess of Federal emission standards. An incorrect fuel hose type contained in the fuel hose and primer bulb assembly may have been provided with the engine. This fuel hose type will emit fuel vapors that have been shown to harm the environment. This issue can be corrected by replacing the fuel hose and primer bulb assembly on the above listed outboard models.

2009 Evinrude® E-TEC® E25DEL and E25DPL models – below serial number 8751149, and 2009 Evinrude E-TEC E30DEL and E30DPL models – below serial number 8751149.

Starting in gear will result in a rotating propeller which will put the boat in motion. Contact with a rotating propeller to a person nearby is likely to result in serious injury or death.

2008 - 2010 Evinrude® E-TEC ® 40-65 HP outboard models, from serial number 5234631 to 5261350 with vapor separator, part number 5007661; and 2008 – 2010 Evinrude E-TEC 75-90 HP outboard models, from serial number 5234342 to 5261350 with vapor separator, part number 5007661; and Evinrude E-TEC 40-90 HP outboard engines with service replacement vapor separator, part number 5007661.

The vapor separator on affected engines may not vent fuel vapors properly due to corrosion of the needle valve assembly of the vapor separator, which could result in a fuel leak. A fuel leak when combined with an ignition source, could result in a fire or explosion and present a risk of serious personal injury to the operator, passengers, and bystanders.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall on some Evinrude E-TEC 40, 50, and 60 HP DTL (Tiller Electric) outboard models; and, 2004–09 40–115 HP outboard models with an installed tiller kit

On some of the above listed outboard models, the internal contact of the push-button start switch assembly on the tiller handle may become loose. If this happens, the electric starter could crank unexpectedly. The outboard could start if: The lanyard is attached, and The key switch is ON, and The shift handle is in NEUTRAL. Even if the engine does not start, the propeller could rotate if the electric starter cranks and the outboard is in gear. This could result in serious injury to the operator, passengers, or nearby people.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall campaign on 2004 - 2007 Model Year 40 - 90 HP Evinrude E-TEC outboards with serial numbers below SN 5166490. Our records indicate that you are the owner of an affected product distributed by BRP.

During original factory testing the fuel system for these outboards was pressurized. The pressure used during testing was intended to simulate maximum system pressures. This testing may have damaged a small percentage of fuel filters. All factory installed fuel filters on the above noted outboards must be replaced to prevent potential fuel filter leaks. A fuel leak when combined with an ignition source, could result in a fire or explosion and present a risk of serious personal injury to the operator, passengers, and bystanders. No injuries related to fuel filter leaks have been reported to date.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall of 2004, 2005, and 2006 model year Johnson outboards. All Johnson® 200 and 225 HP 4-Stroke Outboards (2004, 2005, and 2006 models). This campaign is to replace all ECMs on all outboards, including previously updated engines.

Hard starting can lead to fuel accumulation in the intake port area of outboard. This condition along with a misfire during starting can result in a severe backfire which damages the engine's collector assembly (air intake). If collector assembly breaks, the engine cover can come off unexpectedly, possibly causing serious personal injury. Engine may not start or run if collector assembly is damaged.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively “BRP”) are conducting a voluntary safety recall of Tiller Handle Kits installed on 40, 50, 60, 65 (Jet), 75, and 90 HP Evinrude E-TEC outboards.

The shift cable may break away from the shift cable sleeve. The shift handle may not function, which could potentially cause the outboard to stick in gear or in neutral. A loss of boat control or diminished boat control could cause a risk of personal injury to the operator, passengers, and people who are nearby.

BRP US Inc. in the United States and Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in Canada (collectively "BRP") are conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain 2001, 2004, and 2005 model year Evinrude outboards.

Under certain operating conditions, a fuel injector fastener could loosen and/or break, causing a potential fuel leak, and resulting in a fire or explosion, both of which may cause serious personal injury. Replacement fuel injector fasteners are required to correct this problem.
