Evinrude E-TEC outboards that are 90-horsepower and below are the first two-stroke engines to receive registration by the Bodensee-Schiffahrts-Ordnung Commission, also known as BSO (Lake Constance Nautical Regulations), for use on Lake Constance, the pristine waters bordered by Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

August 2012

Grand opening of World Headquarters of Outboard Engine division. This merges all functions under one roof and marks the end of the Waukegan chapter of the Evinrude story. To commemorate the significance of Waukegan, bricks from the Waukegan facility were brought to Sturtevant and used to build the brick wall behind this timeline. This visible symbol serves as a reminder of the history of innovation with Evinrude and as an inspiration as we look to the future.

Expanded Multi-fuel line up with the introduction of the 30-horsepower MFE

Launched Pontoon Series line of Evinrude E-TEC - the only line of outboards designed specifically for the Pontoon application. Available in 65, 90, 115 and 150-horsepower

A Guinness Book of World Record was set for the largest human waterskiing pyramid - 60 people. The skiers were pulled on a boat with triple 300-horsepower Evinrude E-TEC outboards

April 2014

Two of BRP’s Evinrude engineers received the Arch T. Colwell Merit Award during the 2014 annual Society of Automotive engineers (SAE) World Congress & Exhibition in Detroit for their contributions to furthering mobility engineering.

May 2014

BRP-Evinrude was named the 2014 winner of the Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award for the unique emissions sampling equipment it developed in support of the U.S. Department of Energy’s search for an environmentally safe fuel alternative to gasoline. The award recognizes businesses that demonstrate environmental soundness in pollution prevention, innovative technology and environmental stewardship. The program aims to communicate to businesses, state policymakers and the public that these environmentally conscious practices have a positive impact on Wisconsin.

 

June 2014

Evinrude launches the next generation of E-TEC technology, E-TEC G2. This was the first outboard designed completely by BRP.
