Answers
- 1 - Where can I find service literature such as service manuals, owners manuals or parts books for older Evinrude® and outboards?
- Evinrude® Genuine Parts stocks parts books, service manuals and operators manuals for 1996 and newer products. They may be ordered through your local dealer.
For 1995 and older models, service literature may be available from:
Ken Cook Company
9929 West Silver Spring Drive
Milwaukee, WI 53225
414-466-6060
www.kencook.com
We suggest you have the model number of your product handy if it's available. While Ken Cook may not have every manual for every motor, they do have a wide selection of material for many model years. - 2 - What kind of oil can I use in my older Evinrude snowmobile?
- Any TCW-2 rated oil is acceptable. If the snowmobile will not be used for periods longer than one week, the engine must be fogged.
- 3 - I have an antique outboard and was wondering if your company might be interested in purchasing it?
- No thank you, we don't purchase antiques. However we suggest you contact the Antique Outboard Motor Club at 262-367-6875 or on the web at www.aomci.org.
- 4 - Are there any organizations dedicated to older outboard motors?
- Yes. One such organization is:
Antique Outboard Motor Club
National Headquarters
P.O. Box 69
Sussex, WI 53089
262-367-6875
www.aomci.org - 5 - Where can I get parts for my old Evinrude® or outboard?
- While Evinrude® Genuine Parts stocks a large variety of maintenance-type parts for outboards back to the mid-50's, older outboards may be more difficult to find parts for. There are several dealers who specialize in older, obsolete parts for both brands. While there are others, these four are known to have a fairly large inventory of hard-to-get parts. As others are identified and confirmed, we will try to add them to the list.

www.turbojetmarineproducts.com - 6 - I need to replace the decals on my motor and I can’t find them. Do you have any generic name and horsepower decals I can use?
- We don’t offer any generic decal sets. Decals have a short shelf life, only about 4 to 5 years. You could order a decal set for a newer motor of the same horsepower.
- 7 - I need a wiring diagram for my motor, can you send me one?
- Wiring diagrams are included in the service manuals for each engine. They can be ordered from any Evinrude/Johnson dealer or from the Ken Cook Company, 414-466-6060, or visit www.outboardbooks.com.
