Evinrude E-TEC and Ranger Boats host local test-drive program
Sturtevant, Wis., April 13, 2006 – Evinrude® E-TEC® outboard engines, manufactured by Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), has teamed up with Ranger® Boats to offer test-drive product demonstrations for consumers. Twenty-five test-drive sites will be located at events and tournaments throughout the U.S., including many FLW tournaments from April through October.
"Giving consumers the opportunity to run our product is so important", said Roch Lambert, Vice President and General Manager, Outboard Marine Engines, BRP. "Explaining the technology is one thing, but being able to feel the power and hear the quiet running engine tells the whole performance story. Everyone is impressed when they step off the boat."
When consumers purchase a Ranger boat rigged with an Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine within 60-days of attending a test-drive event, they can receive a total of five years engine protection and a Ranger boat cover. Official rules are available at test-drive locations listed on the schedule below.
Each event is open to the public and hosted by a local Evinrude and Ranger dealer. Consumers can receive a test-ride on the latest models of Ranger bass and walleye boats powered by Evinrude E-TEC direct injection two-stroke outboard engines. Representatives from both companies will be available to demonstrate products and answer questions. Professional anglers from Team Evinrude and Team Ranger will share the latest in successful fishing techniques and sign autographs. The family oriented events feature fishing programs for kids and offer door prizes as well as free tee-shirts and hats to test-drive participants.
Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines are available in the following horsepower platforms: in-line 2- cylinder 40, 50, and 60-hp; in-line 3-cylinder 75 and 90-hp; V4 115-hp; V6, 2.6 liter, 150, 150 HO,175, and 200-hp; V6, 3.3 liter, 200 HO, 225, 225 HO, and 250-hp models. All feature the advanced cleaner two-stroke direct injection technology credited in 2005 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Clean Air Excellence.
