Professional fishing veteran George Cochran joins Team Evinrude
(Sturtevant, Wis., January 23, 2006) - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is pleased to announce longtime bass fisherman George Cochran has joined the Team Evinrude® professional fishing team. Cochran is the 2005 Forrest L. Wood (FLW) tour championship winner and 1987 and 1996 Bassmaster Classic champion.
Cochran, who hails from Hot Springs, Arkansas, has fished professionally for 27 years bringing three championship titles and seven first place wins with him to Team Evinrude. Cochran, currently ranked 17th in the world, joins an elite group of 21 bass and walleye fishermen and eight offshore saltwater fishermen that comprise Team Evinrude.
"I've heard about E-TEC engines on the circuit for the past couple years and I'm very excited to make a move to Evinrude," said Cochran. "I'll be a part of a very talented team of fishermen, and powered by an E-TEC engine that allows me to get out there and fish with the utmost confidence."
In addition to winning the Bassmaster Classic twice, Cochran has qualified for it 20 times. As a veteran professional fisherman, he has received over 150 cash winnings, with his career earnings totaling $1.8 million.
