BRP EVINRUDE PRO ANGLERS DOMINATE AT LAKE CHAMPLAIN

Scott Martin and Anthony Gagliardi take top two spots

Sturtevant, Wis., July 15, 2009 – Team Evinrude angler, Scott Martin of Clewiston, Florida, took home the championship win at this weekend’s FLW Tour stop at Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, New York. Another Team Evinrude angler and past Angler of the Year, Anthony Gagliardi finished second in the tournament. Evinrude angler, Greg Pugh, finished in eighth place. All three anglers will now compete for the ultimate win at the upcoming Forrest Wood Cup Championships being held on Three Rivers Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 30-August 2.

Martin, who has now passed the $1 million mark in career earnings with this win, ended Friday’s competition in ninth place. With Saturday’s weights cleared, he was able to pull in five bass weighing 16 pounds, 11 ounces to advance into the final round. Martin was able to secure another five bass weighing 17 pounds, 12 ounces on the final day of competition sealing the championship win with a total weight of 35 pounds, 13 ounces.
Gagliardi, who also surpassed the $1 million mark in career earnings this weekend, finished second with nine bass weighing 33 pounds, 9 ounces.

"As a professional angler, I depend heavily on the performance of my engine," stated Scott Martin, world renowned Team Evinrude angler.  "The quick hole shot of the Evinrude E-TEC gets me to my fishing spot faster, the fuel economy allows me the distance I need and the reliability gets me to the weigh in every time.  These are all key elements to winning a championship," he declared.

Evinrude engines’ reputation for dependability, quality and reliability coupled with the fact that Evinrude E-TEC is the only outboard engine with no dealer scheduled maintenance for 3 years or 300 hours makes the decision to power with Evinrude E-TEC an easy one. Having the lowest operating costs of any outboard engine means that powering with an Evinrude E-TEC can save consumers up to $1,600 per year in fuel and maintenance costs.

BRP's Evinrude E-TEC engine line-up now includes 110 engine models from 25- to 300-horsepower. All engines are available at Evinrude dealerships worldwide.
