Donation and Sponsorship Request Information and Guidelines

Due to the overwhelming amount of requests for donations and sponsorships that we receive, we can only support a select number of requests each year. While a request might meet some or all of the criteria necessary for consideration, it does not mean BRP will be able to accommodate every appeal.

One of our major contributions is to the United Way Campaign. If your organization is partnered with United Way, please understand that this may be the most efficient way for us to continue to offer our support. Or if your organization has received a donation from BRP within the last two years, your request will not be considered at this time so as to allow us to help as many causes as possible. Requests that benefit our employees, our community and the marine industry are given priority.

These guidelines are intended to provide general information about the criteria we use in making determinations to support an event or organization with a cash and/or product donation, or through advertising. Please carefully review the criteria to determine whether your request meets our guidelines.

General Criteria:

Requests should be limited to those from organizations that benefit the marine industry, the community in which we are located and other charitable organizations with whom our employees are directly involved. In addition, smaller levels of support are granted for sponsorship of certain programs as approved under the "Limitations/Restrictions" section below.

• The organization gives back to the community and has a charitable purpose. We may ask for information supporting the non profit status of any organization to which we provide charitable donations.
• The requested assistance is within our budget capabilities.
• The event/organization generally falls into one of the following categories.
  • Non-profit benevolent organizations benefiting the communities in which we have employees.
  • Events affiliated with the marine industry.
  • Community related causes, which provide a positive impression of the company while benefiting groups of employees.

Limitations/Restrictions:

BRP US Inc. does not support the following types of organization or activities:

• Sponsorship to individuals.
• Athletic sponsorships of individuals and/or teams (i.e., baseball, softball, football, volleyball, soccer, bowling, archery, hockey, darts, cards, little league, etc.) Exceptions; sponsorships of employees of only up to $500 per year towards the cost of uniforms or the like where company's name is promoted.
• School activities (unless BRP's name is promoted in which case sponsorship of up to $500 may be granted).
• Golf outings or tournaments.
• Beauty pageants and individual competitions.
• Race teams and car clubs.
• Organizations that do not benefit the community.
• Telephone solicitation groups of any nature, including "for profit" companies receiving a percentage of money raised.
• Political entities or causes.
• Any other organization or activities at the discretion of the Committee.

Submission Information:

All of the following information must clearly be included in your request:

• Brief description of your group, organization and how it meets our criteria.
• Name, address and phone/fax number, e-mail address of the group or individual.
• Who will your organization or event benefit? What is the objective of the event?
• Date, location and type of event.
• How can BRP help? Indicate type of donation or sponsorship requested and describe how this contribution will be used.
• Explain how the event is being communicated and promoted to the target audience.
• What are the immediate and long-term benefits BRP will receive for participating?

Requests must be received in writing at least 12 weeks prior to the event date. Please allow a response of 4 weeks following receipt of your request. We kindly ask that you do not call regarding the status of your request. We cannot guarantee a response unless we desire more information. Also please note that we will not review or respond to faxed unsolicited submissions.
