A. - BRP Extended Service Terms (B.E.S.T.) is an extended service plan designed to create a new opportunity for BRP's authorized dealers and consumers. B.E.S.T. can be included in every sale during the 2008 Boat Show Promotional Period. It offers a valuable additional extended service plan which is administered completely by BRP.
- Q. What are the FEATURES and BENEFITS of the B.E.S.T. Service Contract?

- B.E.S.T. extended service coverage is for 24 months of additional coverage or 1000 hours of lifetime usage, which ever is achieved first
- Only Recreationally Registered Models are allowed to participate
- Outboard Engine B.E.S.T. Dealer Participation is based on HP sold.
- Available on any new 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008 Evinrude E-TEC Outboard engine during the promotional period Jan 1, 2008 through March 31, 2008
- Covers all components unless specifically excluded
- Coverage is available for a full 2-year extended period beyond the manufacturer's limited warranty for a total of 1000 hours of protection
- Dealer paid at his cost of parts plus 15% for handling and at warranty labor rate
- No Transfer Fee (policy coverage continues for 2nd or 3rd owners)
- Repairs are subject to a deductible of $50 for each repair order.
- Higher consumer acceptance for factory backed warranty protection.
- Fully integrated into Dealerport for ease of use.
- "Buy out" clause should the repair exceed the value of the outboard
- Requirement of 3 year or 300 hour maintenance record and every 300 hours thereafter
- Q. What is B.E.S.T.?

- Q. Is the B.E.S.T. coverage a full Evinrude standard warranty?
A. - No. The extended protection plan for BRP B.E.S.T. Extended Service is administered in the United States by BRP U.S. Inc. For information about what is included in the coverage, please reference to the example of a BRP B.E.S.T. Service Agreement posted on DealerPort under 'Engines' and then the 'Sales Program' link.
- Q. What is covered by the B.E.S.T. Service Contract?
A. - The B.E.S.T. service contract covers most outboard components and repair costs of any covered original part that fails on the covered outboard as a result of mechanical breakdown.
- Q. What is NOT covered by the B.E.S.T. Service Contract?
A. - Exclusions not covered under the B.E.S.T. contract are as follows:
- Replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear;
- Routine maintenance
- Q. What is NOT covered by the B.E.S.T. Service Contract con't.?
A. -
- Parts and services including but not limited to: maintenance requirements, lower unit oil changes, lubrication, replacement of fuses, linkage adjustment, zinc anodes, thermostats, starter motor bushings, trim motor bushings, filters, propellers, propeller bushings, and spark plugs;
- Damage caused by improper or lack of installation, maintenance, winterization/and or storage, failure to follow the procedures and recommendations in the Operator's guide;
- Damage resulting from removal of parts, improper repairs, service, maintenance, or modification, or use of parts or accessories not manufactured or approved by BRP, which in its reasonable judgment, are either incompatible with Product or adversely affect its operation, performance, or durability, or resulting from repairs done by a person that is not an authorized dealer;
- Damage caused by abuse, misuse, abnormal use, neglect, racing, improper operation or operation of the product in a manner inconsistent with the recommended operation described in the operator's guide;
- Damage resulting from external damage, accident, submersion, water ingestion, fire, theft, vandalism or any act of god;
- Operation without proper fuel, oil or lubrication, or with fuels, oils or lubricants which are not suitable for use with the product (see operators guide).
- Damage resulting from rust or corrosion;
- Damage caused from cooling system blockage by foreign material;
- Damage resulting from sand or debris in the water pump;
- Cosmetic or paint changes due to exposure to the elements;
- Upper & Lower Motor Covers
- Cosmetics
- Rubber components including hoses
- Accessories included with the engine
B.E.S.T coverage will be voided in it's entirely and rendered null and void where:
- Product has been altered or modified in such a way so as to adversely affect its operation, performance, or durability, or change its intended use, horsepower or emission levels; or
- Product is or has been used for racing at any point, even by a prior owner.
B.E.S.T. is not offered on the following:
- Outboards for resale or use outside Canada and the United States.
- Outboards with usage other than recreational (such as rental, commercial, government, promotional, fishing pro, consignment, demo, and photo shoot).
- Outboards which have been previously registered.
- Outboards of other technologies. Only Evinrude E-TEC models are eligible.
- Q. What are the dealer benefits of having B.E.S.T. Service Contracts?
A. - The B.E.S.T. Service Contract offers dealers many different benefits including the following:

- Q. What if a customer wants to buy a B.E.S.T. service contract?
A. - Currently, B.E.S.T. contracts for Evinrude E-TEC outboards are not available for sale.
- Q. Can I perform maintenance or repairs for a customer who received his B.E.S.T. service at another dealership?
A. - Yes. You should always serve your BRP customer. Please submit your claim through Dealerport to get reimbursed.
- Q. Can I register a B.E.S.T. contract on Dealerport?
A. - Yes. You should always process registrations and claims through Dealerport. Please consult the procedure section of Dealerport for more details.
- Q. Can we cancel or transfer a B.E.S.T. contract?
A. - B.E.S.T. contracts are not reimbursable and not cancelable (except in Florida) but are fully transferable to a new owner at no charge.
- Q. Do my customers receive any documentation/confirmation from BRP once they buy an engine that receives the B.E.S.T. coverage?
A. - Yes. BRP sends a welcome letter and card to all customers who receive a B.E.S.T. contract through a promotion.
