Answers
- 1 - Where can I find service literature such as service manuals, owners manuals or parts books for older Evinrude® and outboards?
- Evinrude® Genuine Parts stocks parts books, service manuals and operators manuals for 1997 and newer products. They may be ordered through your local dealer.
For 1996 and older models, service literature may be available from:
Ken Cook Company
9929 West Silver Spring Drive
Milwaukee, WI 53225
414-466-6060
www.outboardbooks.com
We suggest you have the model number of your product handy if it's available. While Ken Cook may not have every manual for every motor, they do have a wide selection of material for many model years. - 2 - What year or horsepower is my motor/boat/snowmobile?
- See your dealer and have them refer to the current Model Year Reference Guide.
- 3 - I would like to get an accessory kit for my motor. Do you offer one?
- A kit may be listed in the Dealer Parts & Accessories (P & A) Catalog, or sometimes a specific kit may only be listed in the individual engine parts catalog. See your dealer.
- 4- What size of prop should I use on my motor?
- There isn’t one propeller that is right for any given motor. Too many variables effect performance: You need to know what rpm the engine is running at wide-open-throttle. From there, use this rule of thumb to determine which pitch prop to select: 1 inch of pitch changes engine rpm approximately 250 rpm. Increasing pitch, decreases rpm. Decreasing pitch increases rpm.
- 5 - I need to repaint my engine, is paint (still) available?
- See your dealer.
- 6 - Where can I get spare keys for my motor?
- Keys can be ordered through any Evinrude/ Johnson dealer.
