BRP to help protect the Bahamas
Bahamian Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Selects Evinrude® E-TEC®
Sturtevant, Wis., January 9, 2006 - The Bahamian Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries recently purchased three new patrol boats powered by Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines to protect its $100 million dollar fishing industry.
Senior officials from the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, including Prime Minister Rt. Honorable Perry Christie and Honorable V. Alfred Gray, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, attended a brief ceremony at Marlin Marine on November 7, 2005 to commission the purchase of three new Sea-Chaser boats fitted with Evinrude E-TEC engines to combat illegal fishing in the country's waters and to assist the Defense Force in their efforts to curb illegal immigration. Citing the environmental benefits of Evinrude E-TEC outboards as a major reason for his department's decision, Minister Gray added that, "The (new) two-stroke engine burns gasoline very pollution free. That was one of the things we required."

Mr. Pyfrom and staff have been extremely successful with E-TEC sales, in a market that was previously dominated by four-stroke engines.
