(Miami, Florida, February 17, 2005) - Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) announces new products and extended warranties from the Evinrude® and Johnson® Genuine Parts and Accessories team.
New I-Command Instruments for Evinrude® E-TECTM
Instruments designed specifically for the NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) 2000TM certified Evinrude E-TEC V6 engines will be available for enhanced display of engine and boat performance information. Multiple functions are integrated into an easy-to-use tachometer and speedometer to display all data; RPM, MPH, volts, fuel level, engine trim, oil level, water pressure, engine temperature, engine hours, engine diagnostics, and fuel flow. If separate displays are desired, individual instruments can be easily added through a "plug and play" design.
The I-Command plug and play technology is based on the NMEA 2000TM standard, permitting a simpler and faster transfer of information from engine and boat sensors. This means multiple electronics like an NMEA 2000 GPS or fish locator can be easily added to the network.
New Raker II Props
The new generation of high performance propellers called Raker II are designed to maximize the power of Evinrude E-TEC technology. These props have a re-engineered, CAD blade profile and are precision cast for enhanced bow lift, fast top speeds and excellent drivability. Strategically located vent holes and flared exhaust hub help control blade slip delivering strong acceleration, enhancing overall boat performance. The Raker II is currently available in a 26 pitch configuration. Future releases are scheduled for 22, 24 and 28 pitch versions.
Evinrude E-TEC Dual Battery Charging Kit
A new battery charging accessory kit from Evinrude/Johnson Genuine Parts eliminates the need for a separate battery isolator and ensures both batteries are kept evenly and properly charged. The charger is designed to use the integrated multiple battery charging system standard on the Evinrude E-TEC V6 outboards.
Longer Product Warranties
The DURA-TANK three and six-gallon fuel tank warranty increases to a three-year limited warranty. The DURA-TANK withstood rigorous tests for the highest durability, pressure, flame resistance, shock and vibration, and includes the following standard features;
- quick disconnect fuel fitting
- auto one-way venting
- built-in fuel gauge
- resistant to alcohol extended fuels
- self-sealing fuel connector
- wrap-around fuel line storage
- scratch resistance glass fuel lens
- built-in fuel cap retainer
Evinrude / Johnson Snap-In® shift and throttle cables also increase to a three-year limited warranty, effective on purchases made after January 1, 2005. Some of the quality features that set this product apart from the competition include;
- A stainless steel core wire virtually eliminates corrosion
- 16 Lay wires add support to prevent kinks and stiffness
- A lubricated liner delivers smooth operation and maximum efficiency
Reformulated XD100 Extreme Temperature Oil
New XD100 synthetic formula engine oil, specially blended for use in Evinrude E-TEC and Evinrude direct injection engines, performs well in all temperatures, even down to zero degrees Fahrenheit. When used in Evinrude E-TEC engines programmed by an authorized dealer, normal outboard engine oil consumption is cut in half with XD100 Oil. XD100 Extreme Temperature Oil has maximum detergency for reduced combustion deposits and is smokeless, odorless, and ashless.
