Evinrude Outboard Engine Key Features
250 H.O. and 300 HP
Both offer 3.44 L (210 cu in) displacement engine, the largest in their class. Both are equipped with cylinder block, crankshaft, larger tuned-exhaust and one-piece inner exhaust. And both provide maximum power and performance with less parts and cooler operating temperatures. The multi-point oiling system provides pinpoint oiling of cylinder walls, crankshaft and connecting roads to maximize lubrication and minimize oil consumption. A fast rise Inductive Ignition System provides exceptionally smooth running and no spark plug fouling operation, even after countless hours of trolling.
The 250 H.O. features a Lighting (1.71:1/.58 ratio) gearcase with low-water intakes, a robust gear set, maximum factory-tuned horsepower and H.O. graphics. The 250 H.O. is available in 20’ and 25’ blue and 20’ white models.
The 300-hp features the SLE Magnum (Straight Leading Edge) gearcase and is available in 25’ and 30’ white, standard and counter rotation for inshore and offshore saltwater rigs. Perfect for pontoon applications is the 20’ white, standard rotation model. At up to 290 lbs (132 kg) lighter than most competing engines, this outboard engine will get the most out of any boat.

115 H.O. and 130 HP
The 1.7 liter V4 engines were designed for maximum performance. Both are equipped with a lost foam exhaust housing, an exhaust valve and a designed upper motor cover. And like the entire Evinrude outboard line-up, they deliver outstanding power and performance with few parts, which translates into less weight on the transom.
The lost foam exhaust housing on both the 115 HO and 130 add to the durability of the already low maintenance E-TEC formula. And the exhaust valve not only increases durability by resisting carbon build-up, but also helps to increase the power of the engine. The motor cover efficiently redirects and cools the airflow, which also means more power. Take all of these benefits plus a true 50 Amp alternator to run all of your gadgets, and you have the ideal outboard engine to get you to where the fish are – faster.
And at a lower cost to operate than some older technologies. The engine management system, along with ball-in-plunger injectors, provide excellent fuel economy. This system calculates the precise amount of fuel needed at any given moment, whether at idle or full throttle, so not a drop of fuel is wasted.

Evinrude E-TEC 130-HP
25 HP and 30 HP Evinrude outboard engines
This super compact 2-cylinder design offers the largest in-class displacement and the lowest in-class weight. The engine mount allows this to be the smoothest operating engine in this horsepower class. Both the 25-hp and 30-hp are equipped with a precision E-TEC injector. A Micro Droplet Injector (MDI) offering cleaner power, hours of no-foul trolling and incredible fuel efficiency throughout the entire operating range. The air intake design pulls air from the rear of the engine, resulting in better airflow for all throttle ranges, more power and less noise. Even at idle speeds, these outboards produce a best-in-class 56 amps and the smaller blow-off water valve provides a thermostat “back flush” effect, flushing most sand and other thermostat clogging debris. Plus, there’s an auto-storage mode, allowing avid hunters and anglers to extend the season without hassle or cost.

65 HP and 90 HP Commercial Engines
The low maintenance design of these outboards means no valves to adjust, no oil or oil filters to change and no break-in period. Large displacement powerheads provide abundant torque to pull or push heavy loads and large work boats. And direct injection provides up to 35% better fuel economy compared to some older technologies. Each model features a chrome-plated water pump for reliable and durable cooling and a longer than conventional tiller design offers improved control. The 65-hp is equipped with an ergonomic tiller handle which adjusts both vertically and horizontally. The 90-hp boasts “best-in-class alternator output” delivering plenty of amperage, even at idle speeds.

55 HP MFE
Coast-guards, police departments and other security forces rely on the outstanding power, performance and durability of Evinrude outboard 55 series for marine-patrol duty. Outboards that will take them anywhere, with any fuel. Reliable. And now versatile. The fully immersible E55MRL and E55MJRL offer new Multi-Fuel Engine(MFE) technology. So it can run all day on just about anything, from gasoline to kerosene. Even jet fuel.

Tiller Handles
Two tiller handles are offered. First, the tiller with micro-vertical adjustability and 3-position lateral adjustment, allowing user comfort in all applications. Push button/ key starting along with throttle trim and tilt are conveniently located to provide total
control and user convenience. And a large, forward mounted gearshift reduces fatigue normally associated with tiller applications and a longer length handle provides more leverage for higher hp applications – available on 40-115-hp models.
The second tiller is available on the 25-hp and 30-hp models. This tiller design provides thumb controlled trim and tilt at the end of the twist grip, forward positioned shift handle, conveniently located electronic troll speed and resume control so you can always stay on the fish. With three vertical (0-30-90°) and three horizontal positions, this tiller handle provides comfortable all day fishing in any boat. Add convenient push button starting and this outboard is ready to go wherever you desire. In comfort.
SLE Magnum Gearcase
Found on all 30" V-6 models and select 20" and 25" V-6 models, the SLE Magnum gearcase significantly increases water flow to the engine. Cooling ability and capacity have been increased by the addition of water inlets in the nose of the gearcase. These additional inlets provide ample cooling water, particularly in multi-engine rigs or obstructed applications. A housing includes a straight leading edge that easily sheds weeds and an improved hydrodynamic design directs water to the strut mounted inlets for improved water flow to the engine. Even in weedy or compromised conditions.
Lightning Gearcase
Durability and overall performance. The lightning gearcase delivers both. A 1.71:1 (.58) gear ratio is standard on all Evinrude 250 H.O. and 225 H.O. outboard engines. A ratio that not only reduces gear loading for improve long-term durability and reliability, it also allows for higher engine mounting height and faster top speeds¸on performance applications. In addition, these gears are made of a high grade, 9310, vacuum arch re-melt (VAR) material, ensuring consistent quality and superior strength throughout the entire gear. Perfectly matched to our line of Raker II, Cyclone and Rebel propellers, the 1:71:1 Lightning gearcase offers reliable performance no matter what the conditions.
Advanced Fuel Injectors
Reduced fuel economy. Better overall performance. The E-TEC technology allows to deliver precisely the right amount of fuel required directly into the combustion chamber via the advanced fuel injectors. And all this in every Evinrude engine size. More high-quality stainless steel components were added to the "ball in plunger" design providing even better fuel efficiency and increased performance over the life of the engine.
Fast Rise Inductive Ignition
Fast Rise Inductive Ignition combines the quick rise time of Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) with the long spark duration of inductive ignition. The result: longer spark plug life, less chance of plug fouling, more consistent running quality and a smoother running engine. Even in the harshest conditions and duty cycles, spark plug life will last longer.
