  • Trolling twin a engine boat, both down, only 1 running

Trolling for stripers in my old twin inboard I often only ran 1 engine.  I just picked up a Blackfin with twin E-TEC 150's  and I see in the owners manual not to back down with only one engine running if the other is down, makes sense, and if returning home on one to tilt the other prop clear of the water, sounds like common sense too. Does this in any way apply at slow trolling speeds too? Can water be pulled into the powerhead? Is this a gear case thing?  There are times I like to troll real slow and the non running engine down adds drag and the rudder effect of the second adds control in tight places.

    Thanks
